PRN Respiratory Therapist or Registered Nurse | Home Medical Equipment

Overview

Seeking a flexible Respiratory Therapist (RRT or CRT) or Registered Nurse (RN) to provide per-diem support in the Apple Valley, Minnesota area. This unique opportunity allows you to create your own schedule while supporting critical patient care needs, with most setups conveniently performed in-office.

Work Environment

This per-diem role involves flexible scheduling with opportunities to support patient equipment setups, primarily for CPAP, BiPAP, and ventilator needs. Most setups are performed in-office during business hours (8am-5pm, Monday-Friday), with occasional home visits up to 1.5 hours away. You'll work independently, responding to patient requirements with clinical expertise and compassion.

Key Responsibilities

• • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments
  • Provide equipment education and setup (primarily in-office)
  • Monitor respiratory equipment function
  • Perform CPAP, BiPAP, and ventilator setups and maintenance
  • Communicate patient findings to physicians
  • Maintain accurate documentation
  • Respond to equipment issues as needed
  • Educate patients and families on equipment use

Qualifications

Required:

• • Active RRT, CRT, or RN licensure in Minnesota (RT preferred)
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Strong clinical assessment skills
  • Excellent communication abilities
  • Ability to work independently

Preferred:

• • Completion of accredited respiratory care program
  • Experience with CPAP, BiPAP, and ventilators (required for RN candidates)
  • Home respiratory care experience
  • Degree in respiratory therapy or related science
  • One year of related work experience

Physical Demands

• • Lift and carry office equipment at times
  • Requires close vision to small print on computer and/or tablet and paperwork
  • Requires contact with patients and equipment with potential exposure to contagious pathogens
  • Requires occasional lifting and transporting of patient equipment
  • Requires sitting, walking, standing, talking and listening
  • Required to comply with Respiratory Protection & N95 Mask Fit Testing Policy:
    • Medical evaluation and fit testing compliance in a timely manner
    • Keep face clean-shaven to ensure N95 mask face-seal protection per OSHA guidelines
