SH-887 Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), St. Louis, Missouri.

Position Overview:
This professional-level position works under the general direction of the Clinical or Behavioral Health Lead. Responsibilities include preparing and administering behavior support plans to enhance adaptive behaviors and diminish challenging behaviors. The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is an integral member of the interdisciplinary team, contributing to high-quality, person-centered care aligned with applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles in a 24/7 state-operated facility setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and administer behavior support plans to enhance adaptive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors.
  • Apply knowledge of applied behavior analysis (ABA) and behavior modification principles, theories, and techniques.
  • Assess and interpret behavioral data to guide interventions and support plans.
  • Evaluate the impact of mental illness and/or developmental disabilities on cognitive and behavioral functioning.
  • Train facility staff, caregivers, and family members in behavioral analysis and intervention techniques.
  • Monitor and adjust behavior plans based on individual progress and data outcomes.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support individualized care and treatment goals.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with facility and state requirements.
  • Support a safe, therapeutic, and person-centered environment for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Observe and report any significant behavioral or medical changes to the appropriate clinical lead in a timely manner.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, including direct care staff and clinical leadership, to support coordinated care.
  • Complete other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Active Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification and license required.
  • Certifications: Valid BCBA certification and state license (if applicable). CPR certification preferred.
  • Experience: Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and/or mental illness required.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of ABA principles and methodologies. Ability to assess, interpret, and analyze behavioral data. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to handle crisis situations calmly and effectively. Ability to work effectively in a team-based clinical environment.

Working Conditions

  • Work with individuals with varying cognitive levels, intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental illness, physical and sensory impairments, limited social supports, and complex behavioral needs.
  • Communicate and interact with facility staff, caregivers, and family members on a daily basis.
  • Prepare for the possibility of unexpected crisis or behavioral situations to occur.
  • Availability for up to 40 hours per week, typically between 8:00 AM 4:30 PM.
