Position: RN Unit Manager

Edenbrook North, a well-established and a trusted provider in the skilled nursing space, and a proud member of Eden East, is looking for an RN Unit Manager to enrich the lives of our residents. This is an exciting time to join the team, as the facility is supported by new clinical leadership committed to strengthening care standards, team collaboration, and operational excellence.

The RN Unit Manager serves as a key clinical leader within the facility, championing high-quality nursing care, service excellence, and team performance. This role partners closely with the Director of Nursing (DON) to provide strategic oversight, mentor nursing staff, and ensure the Nursing Department operates efficiently and effectively so Guests receive exceptional care 24 hours a day.

Essential Functions:

  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Assists the D.O.N with planning, directing, and supervising the activities of the nursing staff.
  • Ensures the Nursing Department is in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Develop, implement and update department policy and procedures when necessary or as directed.
  • Assists with staffing to ensure Guest needs and regulatory requirements are met at all times.
  • Participates in Federal, State and Local agency annual surveys.
  • Reviews any deficiencies noted by government agencies during inspections and assists with the implementation of changes needed to correct any deficiencies found.
  • Completes annual performance reviews of all subordinate staff. Provides guidance and education to staff in regards to their performance.
  • Provides counseling and disciplinary action to subordinate staff members as needed.
  • Responsible for training and educating staff members.
  • Assure that established infection control and standard precaution practices are maintained at all times. Follow established safety precautions when preforming tasks and using equipment and supplies.
  • Reports all hazardous conditions, damaged equipment and supply issues to the appropriate persons.
  • Maintains the comfort, privacy and dignity of Guests/guests and interacts with them in a manner that displays warmth, respect and promotes a caring environment.
  • Must answer and respond to call lights promptly and courteously when working in Guest care areas.
  • Assist with new admissions, re-admissions and assist with the transfer of Guests to different rooms within the facility.
  • Communicates and interacts effectively and tactfully with Guests, visitors, families, peers and supervisors.
  • Attend and participate in departmental meetings and in-services.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience
  • Wound care experience, staff education experience, and dementia certification (preferred)
  • Infection Control and/or Professional Development experience
  • Associates Degree in Science, Nursing or related field/Graduate from and accredited nursing program.
  • Current State License as Registered Nurse.
  • C.P.R. Certified
  • 2 years R.N. experience
  • Previous experience managing a Nursing department.
  • Knowledge of Joint commission procedures.
  • Knowledge of State Health Department regulation
