Job Description

Our client is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and emergency respiratory care to patients across the lifespan. This role supports both acute and chronic respiratory needs, collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, and ensures safe, evidence‑based practice in all aspects of respiratory care.

Onsite | No Visa Sponsorship | No Relocation Assistance

Work Schedule: 12‑hour day shifts | 6AM–6PM

Responsibilities:

Clinical Care

  • Performs assessment and evaluation of patients with respiratory conditions.
  • Monitors patient response to therapy and adjusts care plans as appropriate.
  • Responds to emergency situations, including rapid response and code blue events.
  • Educates patients and families on respiratory conditions, equipment use, and self‑care strategies.
  • Conducts diagnostic procedures such as arterial blood gas sampling, pulmonary function measurements, and oxygen assessments.
  • Implements physician‑ordered respiratory treatments, including: Bronchodilator Therapy, Chest Physiotherapy, Oxygen Therapy and Ventilator management (invasive and non‑invasive)

Equipment & Safety

  • Manages inventory of supplies, medical gases, and related equipment.
  • Operates, troubleshoots, and maintains respiratory equipment and devices.
  • Cleans, disinfects, and performs preventive maintenance on respiratory therapy equipment.

Documentation & Collaboration

  • Completes accurate, timely documentation in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.
  • Collaborates with physicians, nursing, and other healthcare professionals to support coordinated patient care.
  • Participates in quality improvement initiatives and follows evidence‑based practice guidelines.

Qualifications (Must-Haves)

  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical‑thinking skills.
  • Commitment to patient safety and evidence‑based practice.
  • Completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
  • Ability to manage ventilators and high‑acuity respiratory needs.
  • Current state license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required; ACLS, PALS, and NRP preferred.
  • NBRC certification as a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
