Job Title: Medical Billing Assistant
Job Overview:
Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking a Medical Billing Assistant to join our client to support accurate and timely hospice billing operations. This role plays a key part in ensuring claims are submitted correctly, payments are processed efficiently, and revenue cycle activities remain compliant with payer requirements. Working onsite in Cherry Hill, NJ, you will collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to resolve billing issues and improve reimbursement outcomes. This is a temporary opportunity ideal for a detail oriented billing professional with hospice experience.
Compensation:
$23 to $25 per hour
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM
Key Responsibilities of the Medical Billing Assistant:
• Manage end to end hospice claim submission for Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers, including corrections and resubmissions
• Oversee Medicare hospice billing activities such as Notice of Election entry, tracking, and compliance with required timelines
• Coordinate room and board billing for hospice patients in nursing facilities, ensuring accurate census data and payment follow up
• Monitor accounts receivable, research denials or underpayments, and drive timely resolution of outstanding balances
• Post payments, prepare account adjustments, reconcile billing reports, and partner with internal teams to support revenue cycle improvements
Qualifications and Skills for the Medical Billing Assistant:
• High school diploma with at least three years of hospice billing or healthcare revenue cycle experience
• Working knowledge of Medicare hospice billing regulations, including NOE requirements and submission standards
• Experience handling room and board billing and collaborating with skilled nursing or long term care facilities
• Proficiency with electronic billing systems, EHR platforms, and Microsoft Excel and Word
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple billing priorities
