The consultant will work with the CalPERS state team as an expert-level Solution Architect for the myCalPERS (MCP) System application. Responsibilities include:

Knowledge Transfer (KT): Contractor will provide knowledge transfer of reporting efforts, escalated system issues, and database changes and enhancements. Knowledge transfer occurs via collaborative documentation, code commenting, cross-training, and job shadowing. Knowledge transfer takes place at CalPERS via regular scheduled meetings and review of documentation.
Documentation to include best practices and lessons learned during the project. On an ongoing basis through the end of the contract, all work products and deliverables (project status reports, business process, triage incident reports with resolution, meeting minutes, test cases, test outcomes) have to be discussed with the contract manager to ensure that all the information is documented and placed in a file share. The contract manager will schedule knowledge transfer sessions at regular intervals to ensure that all the work production details have been documented, and the knowledge has been transferred to the state personnel.
Minimum Qualifications: Must have at least twenty-five (25) years of experience in architecture quality assurance for complex projects and initiatives, enterprise applications integration (EAI), defining and developing shared services architectures, designing and developing component architectures, and/or defining enterprise technology architectures.
Of the required experience, at least fifteen (15) years must have been at a senior level, demonstrating both high technical proficiency and significant responsibility.
Must have minimum of twenty-five (25) years of experience working as a solution architect, in providing solutions that aligns with enterprise architecture and aligns with business process in use.
Must have a minimum of twenty-five (25) years of experience in reviewing various software frameworks like web application framework, java script frameworks and recommending based on a set of customers provided criteria.
Must have a minimum of twenty-five (25) years of experience developing, maintaining, and enhancing complex and innovative programs using Java (J2EE), JSP/Servlets, JavaScript, JDBC, Oracle WebLogic.
Must have a minimum of twenty-five (25) years of experience with Oracle 19C database, PL/SQL, SQL.
Must have a minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience integrating with third party services into existing enterprise IT systems.
Must have a minimum of five (5) years (within the last 10 years) of experience with tools JIRA, Bitbucket, Service Now, SharePoint and Confluence.
Experience implement and maintain cloud environments (AWS and/or Azure), troubleshoot, and migrating on-premises applications.
Experience working with public pension systems and/or experience with Governmental Retirement Benefits and Health Programs functions and processes like CalPERS within the last five (5) years.
