Drywall Finisher (Restoration) – Sioux Falls, SD  

Purpose: Promote business growth and customer satisfaction by excelling in the completion of high-quality and timely restoration projects. Responsible for the seamless repair and finishing of surfaces following fire and water damage. This role focuses on transforming damaged structures back to their original state through expert drywall hanging, taping, finishing, and texturing.

Essential Functions:

• Complete drywall operations including hanging, taping, mudding, and sanding.
• Apply various textures to match existing surfaces perfectly.
• Work with materials such as wood, plastic, fiberglass, or drywall
• Utilize specialized tools such as taping knives, hawks, trowels, power sanders, and texture sprayers.
• Work safely on stilts, ladders, and scaffolding to reach high ceilings and walls.
• Ensure surfaces are plumb and level using straight edges and levels before and after finishing.
• Perform patch work and repairs on damaged areas, ensuring invisible transitions between old and new drywall.
• Identify and report on structural areas impacted by moisture or soot that may affect finish quality.
• Set up proper containment and dust control measures to protect the customer's property from fine sanding dust.
• Perform thorough set up and clean up tasks at job sites, ensuring a professional environment.
• Complete related restoration tasks including insulation installation, priming, and minor painting or carpentry as needed.
• Cross-train to assist with water mitigation during peak demand.

• Demonstrate expert craftsmanship with a focus on seamless transitions and "invisible" repairs.
• Communicate with a positive and empathic approach to customers who may be stressed due to property damage.
• Communicate effectively with project managers and the restoration team regarding timelines and material needs.
• Work diligently and maintain high efficiency when moving between different phases of drying and finishing.
• Respond positively to sudden changes, flexibility and the ability to adjust quickly.
• Demonstrate organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Work independently and exhibit strong problem-solving skills.
• Apply personal ethics and honesty in all client interactions and reporting.
• Actively follow and support the Mission of INTEK, its policies, and safety procedures.

Experience and Education:

● High School Graduate or GED Required

● Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record Required

● Ability to pass a background check Required

Physical Demands:

● Ability to occasionally bend, climb or balance, kneel, stoop, walk, or push and pull objects

● Ability to lift up to 25lbs, and occasionally 100lbs, to perform job functions

● Ability to work in a variety of environments, conditions, and temperatures including both in the office and in the field
