AHA accomplishes this mission by providing affordable or subsidized housing at 15 different properties, administering approximately 1700 vouchers, and offering a variety of programs with case management.

Job Description



This role provides comprehensive housing stability case management to households experiencing homelessness or at risk of becoming homeless in the City of Aurora. The Navigator supports households in quickly obtaining and maintaining permanent housing through housing navigation, landlord engagement, and financial assistance coordination, using a housing‑focused, strengths‑based approach with an emphasis on long‑term housing stability and increased income.

  • Provide housing‑focused, trauma informed, strengths-based case management to households enrolled in Aurora@Home.
  • Conduct home visits as needed to support housing stability, tenancy retention, and participant engagement, including after move‑in and during critical transition periods.
  • Use home visits to assess housing stability, identify emerging risks, support problem‑solving, and connect households to appropriate resources.
  • Support participants in identifying housing options, completing applications, preparing for lease‑up, and navigating inspections and moves.
  • Develop individualized strengths based housing stabilization plans focused on long‑term housing retention.
  • Provide post‑housing support, including tenant education, problem‑solving, and conflict mediation to prevent evictions.
  • Coordinate and monitor financial assistance (e.g., rent, deposits, supportive services) in compliance with funder and program guidelines.
  • Conduct income and rent calculations and complete required documentation and recertifications.
  • Maintain accurate, timely client records from intake through program exit.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with private landlords and property managers to expand housing opportunities.
  • Mediate tenant–landlord concerns as needed to support housing stability.
  • Accept referrals through Coordinated Entry and Aurora@Home Collaborative. Communicate regularly with referring agencies regarding participant progress.
  • Enter and maintain participant information in HMIS and generate reports as required.
  • Actively participate in collaborative meetings, case conferencing, and system‑wide planning efforts.
  • Advocate for individual clients and broader system improvements impacting people experiencing homelessness.
  • Engage households using trauma‑informed, culturally responsive, and strengths‑based practices.
  • Treat all participants with dignity and respect, honoring diverse identities, experiences, and housing needs.
  • Provide transportation support during housing search or service linkage, in accordance with agency policy. Requires the use of personal vehicle.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications



Master of Social Work (MSW) required.

  • Minimum two years of experience in Rapid Rehousing, Permanent Supportive Housing or Homeless Prevention, housing navigation, case management, or a related direct human services role.
  • Strong understanding of Housing First, motivational interviewing, and trauma‑informed care.
  • Experience working with households experiencing homelessness and/or housing instability.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and meet documentation and reporting requirements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort learning HMIS and Coordinated Entry systems.
  • Valid Colorado driver’s license, current auto insurance, and ability to pass background and motor vehicle record checks.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings
  • Lived experience of homelessness or housing instability preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Familiarity with Aurora‑area housing and community resources.
  • Experience working with households facing barriers such as mental health challenges, substance use, or domestic violence.

Additional Information



Salary $65,400--$66,100 based on education and experience
